More playing around with watersoluble graphite in my sketchbook.

I got some art prompts on Instagram for the set of watersoluble graphite pencils I recently bought. One of them was "Die Ärzte 👀" and this is what I came up with:

^Idk if Farin even looks like Farin, it looks more like some Bela/Farin combo lmao.

And the next one was actually what I drew first when the first attempt of eyes did not work out:

But I still wanted to draw/paint eyes because I found that'd be hilarious because of the emoji :DDDDDDDD With the latter I used white acrylic paint for the white parts as I still haven't been able to find a white pen that would be thin, solid and opaque enough for my art. For the first one I used just a plain white gel pen as I didn't need that big areas to cover with white + some white pen I bought which, still, did not work as I wanted it to work.

World Watercolour Month '21 - part 2

New paints arrive in the mail day.

Shinhan - Purple Grey Mission Gold - Melon Green Sennelier - Brown Pink (which is neither brown nor pink, but makes for a great mustard)

Rembrandt - Dusk Yellow - Old bruise and thundercloud.

Nothing rhymes with orange, and these aren't orange anyhow, except the one that is. Trust me when I say these colours aren't as samey as they look.

Holbein - Quinacridone Gold Daniel Smith - Aussie Red Gold Some accidental mix of orange and green.

Rembrandt - Permanent Madder Lake Daniel Smith - Rhodonite Genuine Beam - Violet Earth

Beam - Mars Violet Stoneground - Armenian Ochre Purple / Bordeaux

Van Gogh / Dusk Pink Turner / Dioxazine Violet Beam / Blueberry Mountain Van Gogh / Dusk Violet Opus / Ultraviolet Turner / Turner Maroon

Inez Serrano in watersoluble graphite~

I have to say that I love the effect I can get on curly hair with this medium.

And Inez is definitely my favourite villain/target/adversary in QoT. She is so wonderfully creepy, so wonderfully twisted, and so wonderfully predatory woman, but in such a normal, everyday way. She’s not some criminal mastermind, she’s the type of creep you can just meet anywhere, and this makes her so much more unsettling.

So, a drawing.

Day 9: Climbing Mountains The Derwent Graphitints are an intereating supply where they are a specific colour range but looking at them can give interesting inspiration.

Hear me out, the bad doodle is not the point. (Unless the point is I draw circles as bad as Will Graham does clocks (a)… Because it was already established I sketch like sh*t. Anyway…) It was a 10 minutes test drive for the PENCILS.

If you’re like me and have always hated the feel of watercolor pencils, in comparison these ones felt like a dream. Nice to sketch with and very fun in the watersoluble stage with nice saturated colors. (Yeah believe me on my word, will you? My phone always takes crappy pictures.) >>>>> All hail GRAPHITE watersoluble pencils. **  (These are Derwent’s ones, but they’re probably not the only ones doing them…)
